‘How to draw a Pony’ is a Drawing Improvisations initiative – research, experimentation and educational platform. Launched in 2018 and being developed by visual artists – Emilia Grzeczka and Paulina Prokop – based in Amsterdam.
As ‘How to draw a Pony’ we organise drawing improvisations, where we explore possible ways of kicking off and engaging in co-creation. Our aim is to popularise this kind of activity, to experiment and to examine the potential of combination: drawing – improvisation – interaction. We are intrigued by a situation where people do not necessarily know each other and differ in the skillset, knowledge and sensibility yet are placed in a possibility to enter into creative conversations outside the daily rules, habits, rituals and conventions. We are interested in drawing as a basic experience of developing spontaneous processes and drawing together as a way of implementing and investigating post-individualistic approach in the field of art.
