Emilia Grzeczka – an artist and researcher, born in Poland, living in the Netherlands, educated in Scenography (BA) and Fine Art (MA) at the University of Arts in Poznan. Awarded for her practice with The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage Scholarship and The Cultural Scholarship of Marshal of Wielkopolska Region. She did an independent olfactory research in the Mediamatic Open Aroma Lab and attended the courses of the Institute for Art and Olfaction. She works interdisciplinary in the field of visual art and theater, with the video loop installations, drawing, social design, non-goal oriented collaborative processes and the sense of smell. She creates in cycles, researching and expressing through multiple related pieces. Interested in moving images beyond the context of cinema and cause-and-effect culture. Grzeczka is a co-founder of ‘How to draw a Pony’ – Collective Drawing Improvisations initiative – research, experimentation and educational platform. She was a guest teacher at the Amsterdam University of the Arts; University of the Underground; and Modern International Academy of Design and Art in Chongqing.
